Weekend Update

christmas ornaments

Happy weekend! It is insane to me how quickly December is flying by. It’s been a crazy month already and it’s not going to slow down at all between now and January. This weekend, I had dinner with my boyfriend’s parents Friday night and for the rest of the weekend I have two blog events, two holiday parties, and a friend’s birthday brunch to attend. Next week is THE week of work holiday parties (three of them), then my holiday party, then off to New York for another weekend. After that, it’s the last week of work before Christmas – then to Virginia for Christmas, Kentucky the week after Christmas, back in Philly for New Year’s Eve, and then back to New York on January 1st. Oh and at some point I have to finish grad school in the next week or so. Basically, I’m all over the place right now.

But that doesn’t stop me from having a weekly roundup of things to share!

I finally decorated my Christmas tree this week! I ordered the ornaments pictured above from Amazon and they are perfect. The look great and also are pretty much unbreakable. I dropped several…many times…and they just bounced right across the floor. There are a ton of different colors and two different size options to choose from.

Have you seen this tour of Jenna Lyons’s home? I’m obsessed.

Earlier in the week, I stumbled upon these amazing glitter loafers from Sole Society. I wasn’t sure if I really needed them until I found them for a way better price on the QVC website! I bought a silver pair and can’t wait to rock these for the rest of the holiday season.

I bought Rupi Kaur’s new book this week. I loooooved Milk & Honey, so I’m excited to dig into The Sun and Her Flowers.

Art in the Age has been open again for a few weeks and I really need to stop in there soon. Doug picked up some of this Bloody Butcher Bourbon from there and it is fantastic.

Currently eyeing this Rebecca Minkoff velvet crossbody while it’s on sale…

Out of all the gift guides I’ve seen this season, Grace’s gift guide “for the person who hated 2017” is hands down my favorite.

Hallie’s outfit post this week has me really wanting some over the knee boots. Maybe these or these?

I’m dying to check Suraya, the new Middle Eastern market and cafe in Fishtown. The food and the space look absolutely amazing.

TIME’s Person of the Year. Enough said.

I am super into the new Madewell x Milk Bar collab. For whatever reason, I really want the cookie bandana and the cookie tshirt.

For my next big DIY project, I’m thinking about making a tufted headboard (like this one but with black velvet fabric). If you know of any good tutorials, PLEASE send my way. I think it’s doable. We’ll see.

Have you checked out your Spotify 2017 Wrapped? I have been looking forward to getting my top songs of the year playlist for months. Here’s mine if you want to check it out! According to Spotify, I listened to 25,811 minutes of music this year.

p.s. Don’t forget to check out my posts from this week! I had a recap of my trip to New York, some of my favorite iPhone apps, and a gift guide for coffee table books.
